Therapeutic Yoga and Massage
Therapeutic Yoga and Massage sessions are ideal for anyone who has specific requirements which would make it difficult to join a general Yoga class. You may have certain conditions such as arthritis, asthma, weight issues, anxiety, chronic pain or be in recovery from an injury or operation. Whatever the issue Therapeutic Yoga and Massage sessions are tailor made to meet your specific needs.

What to expect

The session begins with a consultation to establish what you are hoping to get from the therapy and any medical history that I should be aware of. The session could involve, Mindful awareness of body and breath, gentle stretches with hand-on adjustments where needed to release blocked energy, breathing exercises, visualisation and relaxation techniques to help us cope with any anxieties and pain we may be dealing with. Massage and the use of hot stones can also be used as part of the session to aid the body in relaxing. It is important for the body to be able to relax as it is from this state that the healing process can begin.

Relaxing Massage - to relax, mind body and soul
This ancient hand-on therapy promotes better health and vitality by increasing circulation of blood and lymph which helps to clear toxins and waste products from the body. Massage induces a state of deep relaxation and calm, relieving muscular tension and stress, it stimulates the body’s own self-healing power and strengthens the immune system.

Massage Method
I use a fusion of Therapeutic massage techniques, Thai massage techniques, Indian head massage and hot stones. Mindful breathing and visualisations are sometimes used to aid the relaxation process making it a unique and complete experience.

The power of massage
For thousands of years the power of touch has been considered an important part of the healing process for people suffering from a wide variety of ailments. Modern medicine recognises that Massage therapy benefits our physical, emotional and mental well being. When Massage is applied in a holistic way, considering the uniqueness of each individual, the therapeutic effects on the body and mind are invaluable to combat the stresses of everyday life.
